Christopher Robin's Heartwarming Message.

Updated: Sep 6, 2020

Christopher Robin poster. Not my own, owned by Disney Studios.

Disney's 'Christopher Robin' was the best movie I have seen in a long time. As a baby, the theme in my room was Winnie the Pooh, and The Hundred Acre Wood has always had a special place in my heart.

My 21st birthday was only six days before the film came out, the day I said goodbye to my childhood. Though I decided not to drink, I still felt that something was about to change. My senior year is about to start, a full-time career, and I will be living on my own pretty soon. This film brought me back to my childhood self. It made me realize that no matter how old I get, I need to remember who I used to be and keep that with me.

It introduced Hundred Acre Wood to a new generation, connecting them with the generations who grew up with it before. The best part about the film is it connects with all the ages in the audience; children, parents, and grandparents.

Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) is grown up and has forgotten about Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet (Nick Mohammed), Rabbit (Peter Capaldi), Eeyore (Brad Garrett), Kanga (Sophie Okonedo), Roo (Sara Sheen), and Owl (Toby Jones). He is married, has a daughter, and has a busy job. He has lost the glint in his eye and the spring in his step, focusing on his work.

Winnie the Pooh comes in the picture again, needing help to find his friends but ends up helping Christopher Robin find himself. This film's filled with some of the sweetest moments; that honestly made me cry. Pooh is the cutest version I have seen yet; I want to hug him. The moments between him and Robin made my heart feel happy.

The film also made references to previous films. Tiger sings, 'The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers.' His character was so cute, and he bounced around as always. The writer of the song, Richard M. Sherman was even in the end credits; he created a lot of Disney songs back in the day.

The creativity in the film was amazing. The beginning brings the audience up to the date with what looks like a storybook. The characters look fuzzy, fluffy, and cuddly, which made me want to have them as my own.

If you haven't seen this film, then you should. Revisit your childhood, and if you have children, let them connect with you in that way.

Wearing my Winnie the Pooh shirt and watch to see the film.
